Our Negotiator's Pledge
The 1-2-3 system is designed for people who see the benefit and efficiency of being truthful in the negotiation process. They want to see each case with open and honest eyes, and for those on the opposing side to do the same.
It is a joy to do business with people who are trying to live with integrity. And it is easy to envision reaching a successful outcome when you know the other side is at least trying to be honest. That is why we ask each person using the First Court system to agree, publicly, to the following pledge:
I pledge on my honor to resolve every dispute in the 1-2-3 system as quickly and honestly as my professional obligations allow, to treat my opponents with respect, even when they don’t deserve it, and to encourage the development of ideas for resolving conflicts more fairly and efficiently—all within the larger goal of making our legal culture increasingly worthy of a dynamic and free people.
